Ba Ti Ti Ti Lu
video
Video captured when Mohammad was 2-years old while riding on his new bike, bought by his Atok (my Mom). We haven't got a clue what he's saying but I guess he must have picked it up from somewhere :)

Ramadan Mubarak

5 days in Ramadan have quickly passed.
May our fasting, prayers and other worship in this Ramadan and always, be pleasing to Allah SWT. May Allah SWT make the fasting easy for us and strengthen our iman by it. Ameen...
Let's take a moment to realize the opportunities in this blessed month that has been offered to the believers.

Golden Opportunity
"The wonderful season of spring greets us with the blessings of lush vegetation, delicious fragrances of beautiful flowers, and trees laden with fruit. Likewise, the holy month of Ramadan is a month of springtime for the believer, where Allah’s SWT blessing and mercy surrounds the believer at every point throughout the day and night.
Hence, surrounded by such awesome mercy, this is truly a golden opportunity for anyone wishing for nearness to Allah SWT and forgiveness from sin. It seems that the phrase golden opportunity was coined with the holy month of Ramadan in mind, because this phrase perfectly fits the description of this month."

    My Dear Son, Zarrar, at 5 Months

    Mohammad Zarrar, the name given to my 2nd son by hubby. Zarrar means Great Muslim Warrior and it's based on a man of the name Zarrar ibnu al Azwar ..and Zarar with a single r means Brave or Courageous.

    Little highlights on Zarrar al Azwar:

    Zarrar al Azwar was a great Muslim warrior who was known as "The Half-Naked Warrior" because he would throw off his armor and shirt when fighting an enemy to show his desire for martyrdom. Zarrar was popular among the Muslim fighters and was used to boost their morale, as he did in the Battle of Ajnadayn when he challenged Byzantine champions to duels before the battle. He yelled out: "I am the death of the pale faces (cowards), I am the killer of Romans; I am the scourge sent upon you, I am Zarrar Ibn al Azwar". He is said to have slain several Byzantine champions who accepted his duels, including the governers of Tiberias and Amman.

    Zarrar was Khalid ibn al Walid's* commander in one of his campaigns during the caliphate of Abu Bakr (r.a), and was commanded to fight the Byzantine army, but was captured. Khalid pursued the Byzantines and saw a lone warrior, attacking and killing enemy soldiers, and then withdrawing. Attacking, killing, withdrawing again. Khalid demanded that the warrior identify himself, so the warrior removed the head covering and said, "I am Khawla, sister of Zarrar!" She was fighting to rescue her brother.

    Khalid was very impressed by her courage and skill with the spear so he asked her to join the war party against the Byzantines to free Zarrar. They ambushed the Byzantine contingent that guarded Zarrar, and Khawla fought visciously and killed many men ending the battle with a decisive victory for the Muslims and freedom for her beloved brother.

    My Knights In Shining Armor

    Surah Al-Ahqaf, part of Verse 15:
    "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Your Will)."

    Sinful Slave - No Beats Necessary
    I love this video clips as it shows some footsteps in the Holy City of Makkah AlMukaramah, which I pray that one day, me and hubby will be given the blessings of performing Umrah and Hajj, Ameen.

    ALLAH The Most Merciful Said:
    "O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, if you come to Me with so many sins that fill the earth, and you meet Me without having ascribed partners to Me, I will forgive you with the same great amount of forgiveness"

    Zoo Negara Trip

    It's been awhile since I last went to the zoo. In fact the last time I went there was before I got married, bringing my little nieces and nephews during their school holidays. Hubby suggested to bring the kids to the zoo as we've never been there before and now that Mohammad gets so excited watching those animals on TV and books. It was a fun family trip there, الحمد لله. We managed to take some photos with the giraffes, elephants, lions etc using our own digi-cam.. but the most expensive photos taken were with this toucan bird, cost us RM15/= for each photo. There were 3 animals to shoot with (bird, little pony and a python) and we opted for the toucan as it appears the least scary to the kids. Mohammad called the zoo as 'Rumah Cheria' (cheria means bird in Urdu) as what his abah told him where we're going in the first place. And now when I showed him the photos at the zoo and asked him where this is, he'd say 'Rumah Cheria'!!

    A little note for myself as I came across the following verse ...

    Al-An`am (The Cattle/Livestock), 6:38:-
    "All the creatures on earth, and all the birds that fly with wings, are communities like you. Nothing have We omitted from the Book, and all these creatures shall be gathered to their Lord in the end."

    Birthdays

    I came across a website to convert the English dates to Islamic dates. And I thought that I should make a note on our family birthdays.

    Abu Mohammad, 30 August 1971 --> 8 Rejab 1391
    Ummi Mohammad, 19 November 1974 --> 4 ZulQaedah 1394
    Mohammad Muazzam, 13 May 2005 --> 4 RabiulAkhir 1426
    Mohammad Zarrar, 6 May 2007 --> 18 RabiulAkhir 1428

    Hummnn.. No wonder Mohammad Muazzam's more like his ummi and Mohammad Zarrar's more like his abah ... we share similar day of our birth dates ... MasyaAllah
